How do AI smart vending machines work?

AI smart vending machines use cameras installed in the corners of the machine along with computer vision algorithms to identify which products are taken from the cabinet with 99% accuracy. Customers pay by tapping their phone or card on the payment terminal. Once payment is authorized, the door is unlocked and the customer can take what they like. Payment is finalized after the door is closed and the customer is charged for what they took. In the rare instance of an error, we can verify camera data to apply the correct charge or refund.

What if I take an item then put it back?

The AI system recognizes when items are put back and only charges based on what has been taken out once the door is closed. However, it is not possible to return an item to the cabinet after the door is closed.

How are AI smart vending machines different from traditional or other smart vending machines?

Vending technology has evolved in distinct ways. Traditional machines were purely mechanical — cash-operated with physical product dispensing. The first generation of smart machines introduced cashless payments, digital screens, and remote monitoring. AI-powered machines take it a step further with computer vision, enabling the machine to see what’s taken from the machine in real-time.

What types of products can be stocked?

Because our machines don't rely on traditional mechanical dispensing parts, the interior is open and configurable — adjustable shelving means we can accommodate a much wider range of product sizes and types than a conventional machine. We typically stock grab-and-go essentials tailored to your location: beverages, snacks, personal care items, and more, with product selection based on customer preferences.

Do you offer a revenue share or commission?

Yes, revenue share is an option we're happy to discuss. Every property is different, so we negotiate terms based on your specific situation — foot traffic, space, and other factors. Reach out and we'll work out an arrangement that makes sense for both sides.

How much can my property earn?

It varies based on foot traffic and sales volume, but to give you a concrete example: a location with around 100 daily visitors, healthy sales, and a 10% commission arrangement could see up to $1,200 per year per machine — with zero effort on your part. Higher-traffic locations can earn more.

What if my location is outside your service area?

Our focus is currently in San Francisco County and northern San Mateo County. However, we're willing to travel a bit for the right location, so please reach out even if you’re a little bit outside our main service area.

Can customers pay with cash?

Our machines are built on tap-to-pay technology for speed and simplicity and cannot accept cash. Also, due to the required pre-authorization, pre-payed debit and gift cards also cannot be used.

What payment types are accepted? Is there a pre-authorization hold?

Our machines are cashless and accept credit and debit cards with tap-to-pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Pre-paid debit and gift cards are generally not accepted. A pre-authorization hold of $5–$10 is placed at the start of each transaction and adjusted to the actual purchase amount upon checkout.

Who handles restocking and maintenance?

We do. Restocking, maintenance, and machine monitoring are all handled by us — there's nothing required from your staff or property management.

How long does delivery and installation take?

Delivery typically takes one to two weeks depending on supply. We strive to install the machine on the same day as delivery, but in some cases installation may take two days.

Is there any cost to the property?

No. We place and maintain machines at no cost to the property. In most cases we operate as a free amenity, and any revenue share arrangement is a percentage of sales — meaning you only earn, never pay.

What types of locations work best?

High-traffic spots with consistent daily foot traffic of 50+ are ideal — office buildings, residential apartment complexes, fitness studios, co-working spaces, hotels, and similar venues. The right fit is a location where people are already looking for a quick, convenient option and don't have easy access to one.
